Iridology is the practice of studying the iris of the eye – such as patterns and colors – to determine information about a patient’s health as a whole.
To make these observations, trained professionals called iridologists use iris charts this divides the iris into zones that represent certain parts of the human body.
Iridology points at areas of blocked energy in the body and also helps to identify a sluggish organ or a weak nerve supply to a particular organ. This sluggishness or weak nerve supply causes fatigue and imbalance in the body. Once these areas or organs are identified we then work to develop and nutrition plan along with herbal medicine OR supplements to bring balance back.
To the trained iridologist, the colour, texture and the various markings on the iris suggest areas of underactivity, overactivity, toxicity, deficiency etc. which have been inherited or have been brought on by diet, lifestyle, stress, etc.
Iridology is an alternative assessment tool I use in my clinic to provide an individualised service to my clients by informing them of their innate strengths and weaknesses, empowering them to work on what we need to streghthen, detox, cleanse, nourish etc in the body. Empowering you to achieve the best from your body!
Iridology was first popularized in 1881 by Dr. Ignatz Von Peczley in his book Discoveries in the Field of Natural Science and Medicine, where he published the first iridology chart. Subsequently, Dr. Bernard Jensen compiled one of the first modern charts in 1950.
